I had dot net 4.6.1 installed but the trial for Framemaker 2019 would not install. I tried to install 4.72 and it uninstalled my 4.6.1 and crashed and deleted all my restore points! So I assume it needs a version above 4.6.1?

Just tried to install the new Framemaker 2019 and the new Robohelp 2019 trials. Both fail to install error 183. I uninstalled and reinstalled Creative Cloud app and did not help. Framemaker 2019 install always fails at 79% done. I have turned off antivirus software.

So that works! Thanks! The client has a twist though. He wants the title "Table of Contents-Spanish" and "Table of Contents-French" to show up at the end of the English TOC. And the French to show up at the end of the Spanish TOC. Just the one line title, not the whole TOC. My TOC styles are called TOC and TOC2. I thought if I applied the Heading1-EN heading to the Spanish TOC title and the French title that it would show up in the English section. Seems logical to me! But would not work.

So if I created a set of styles for each language, it would not be hard to replace Heading1 with Heading-SP for example. If I did that then would I put the insertion point at the start of the Spanish, for example, and create a TOC based on Heading1-SP, etc? And do the same for French.

I can create a TOC but it is a normal one that numbers all the pages sequentially and makes no distinction for when it changes from English to Spanish. I have the same styles for the whole document, namely Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3. The client wants the English part to have its own TOC, and the Spanish to have its own TOC at the beginning of the Spanish part; same for the French part to have a TOC when it begins. Thank you.

I signed up for Lynda.com's Long Docs in Indesign on the trial but have not yet found the answer. I assume one way is to do sections but not sure beyond that. Also the whole document is less than 100 pages.

I thought I would start with a blank doc and paste in place, section by section. I pasted in the first 40 pages but when I ran the TOC it includes phantom headings not in the doc!

Thanks for the reply! INDD CC on Windows. I started with a blank INDD and imported the Word doc with its styles. Whats weird is that the sections in question do not show page numbers in the TOC! The TOC shows like page 1-44 and then a bunch of sections with no numbers, and then it restarts the numbering a page or two later! Also I see them in the INDD doc but when I search for them like by a title, they do not show up in the search! Like they are phantoms or something!

I imported a Word doc and somehow have sections duplicated and out of place. Not sections in the INDD sense; I mean a heading and its text are sections. How best to fix this mess? Create a new document and cut and paste sections in the correct order? I do not know how esle to clean it up. Ken

Thanks for the detailed response! Do I select the Select tool or the Text tool before I place the image? I got to where the text wrapped correctly. I just cannot get the "blue box" to drag to the previous paragraph. I really need that to work. The blue box is the link icon right? I hold the ALT key down and try to drag the link to the previous paragraph. But it will not work. The Select tool changes to have a black bullet beneath the arrow. When I hold down ALT the Links dialog pops up. Not sure what I am missing.

I have a 100 page Indesign document (CC) I imported from Word. I need to go back and insert an image on about every page. The only way I can think of is to use the Enter key to add blank spaces so that the placed image does not cover up the existing text. There HAS to be a better way! Ken

I imported a Word doc for a client into FM 2015. Then he had me make changes and save as a revised doc and wants to see the changes. when I try to compare I get a dialog that says documents need to have uniquely named flows. How do I do that so I can compare the two?

Okay, I had some photos where I changed to grayscale AND used noise reduction in Camera Raw. I have the HQ option checked but the thumbnails displayed show the gray scale but not the reduction in noise. However if I view an individual file in Camera Raw it shows both grayscale and noise reduction. Something in the way thumbnails are displayed? I have reinstalled Bridge to no avail.

Well when Image Processor allows me to set up a folder under the current one I am working on named "For Viewing" WITHOUT my having to SELECT the source folder AND the OUTPUT folder then I will say Bravo. BUT until then I will export in CS5-way to GO Adobe (sarcasm). Before ALL I had to do was: Open a folder in bridge Select files to be exported Right click to export using my export preset and VOILA, it converted RAW to JPG, resized AND put in a unique folder that i did not have to enter every time. And a heck of a lot faster than Image Processor I might add! "But it seems you never used a batch command in Photoshop?" Just a TAD condescending I would say?
