I'm building a new PC for video editing and I am considering this arrangement for storage:Samsung 960 PRO NVME M.2 512GB:  O/S and ProgramsSamsung 850 PRO SATA 2TB:  Data, Media/ProjectsWestern Digital Red Pro 7200 HDD 8TB: Mass Storage and Previews/ExportsWestern Digital Red Pro 7200 HDD 8TB: Backup and Media CacheOr would I be better off with Previews/Exports and Media Cache placed on the 850 PRO along with Media/Projects?During the Golden Days of HDD's, we usually split these off onto separate drives.  But with SSD's, I'm not so sure.   Can the SSD really handle all those tasks better?Remaining components are 32GB RAM, I7-7700K CPU, Z270 Motherboard, GTX-1080 GPU, Enermax 750 Platinum PSU.

I know that there are already multiple threads for the best graphics card. But I have a kind of different scenario since I don't have many fancy/crazy effects, but just many cameras that recorded simultaneously.So I need to do some multisequence editing in Premiere Pro with a total of 10 cameras with these resolutions: 1x 4k, 3x 2.7k, 6x FullHDIn my wildest dreams I'd be able to smoothly see all 10 streams while setting the camera switches. The streams only have some "smaller" effects like "sharpen" and "lumetri color".These are my other specs:CPU: i7-4770, Quad-Core @ 3.4 GHzMainboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4RAM: 16 GB DDR3 (2x G.Skill F3-2400C11-8GSR)HDD where footage is stored: 2x WD 3TB 5400 rpm in Raid 1The system and also the Premiere Cache/Stretch disk are laying on SSD (Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB and Intel 80 GB respectively). Unfortunately, the footage in total has 360 GB so it's no option to put that on a SSD.Is there any hope that with buying a graphics card showing those 10 video s

Since upgrading to Premiere Pro 2017 I'm getting a warning that GPU acceleration is not available. Always managed to get Premiere to accept my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 in the past but stumped as to how to do this in 2017?Also, wondering if I should consider upgrading this NVIDIA  graphics card and would welcome any suggestions. I'm sorry if this isn't the appropriate forum, but I couldn't think of a better one. I'm hoping someone might have a clue as to what my problem is.I have 4K photo-jpeg clips I've created (with After Effects CC, if that matters), and I've been trying to figure out why I can't play them smoothly on my computer. At best they play at about 15fps; at worst (different video players) they stutter like crazy, and audio is choppy (on & off for seconds at a time).I'm running Win 10 64-bit, and when using Task Manager's Performance monitoring, I can't see anything being utilized too much:CPU: 31% max, mostly 29%Memory: 19%Disk: 53% max, mostly 0% (file is playing from an SSD)GPU Load: Varies 16% - 41%,GPU Memory Controller Load: Varies 9% - 28%These figures are when using the Win 10 "Movies & TV" app. I haven't examined resource utilization when running other players, but none of the other players I've tried (VLC, Windows Media Player, MPC, PotPlayer) plays these clips any better. hi everyone.you all know about the awesome SSD speed and how putting it on cache in premiere makes it fast right? Well, I was reading that premiere uses the media drive for export, not the cache(except for use previews I suppose). makes sense right? so I was wondering, since the SSD drive is so small, if, once we're done with editing smoothly with the cache stuff, then delete all the cache, copy the slow media to the SSD to render faster?

I've tried drivers old and new. I need a reliable system. I currently can't work in CUDA because after every few moves the screen goes black. Only way to get it back is to switch to software only.I know there are a lot of people with this problem. But perhaps some who do not have this problem might share which Video Card they are using. Hello,I do the bulk of my work on my desktop, but while traveling I regularly need to do a little graphics work. I would like to get a 2-in-one that I can use.  I have thought about the Lenovo 910, Lenovo P40, Surface Book, and a few others. Not an Apple fan.  Not sure if I "must" have Nvidia or not? Also want to avoid the UI being unusably small if the screen resolution is super high…  Here are my “needs:” Showing pictures to clients, would like nice display for this. Lightroom basics—importing and tagging mostly. Photoshop—fairly simple editing tasks mostly RAW images from Canon DSLR. Premiere basics—upload a few videos (10 minutes total) from Canon DSLR and cut together simple video to export to H.264.  Not sure, but I can imagine when at home it might sometimes be nice to use this computer for pen tasks instead of a Wacom/desktop. Suggestions?

I’m a relative novice when it comes to computers, but thanks in large part to a lot of YouTube videos, I was able to build a PC specifically with video editing in mind. Now that it’s put together, however, I’m still seeing a lot of lag time with rendering and editing on my timeline, not to mention importing and exporting. I’ve tried several versions of Premier Pro CC – from 2014 up to the most recent version – but the problem remains. I currently operate entirely off one 500GB SSD, and use the second one as an archive.(both are Samsung 850 Evo 500GB)This much I know: I should at least be exporting to the second SSD if everything else is on the first oneHowever, I've also heard a bunch about separating cache files or scratch disks and whatnot from the drive that holds the originals (tho it sounds like that mostly applies to HDD setups with way slower I/O)TL;DR: They're both 500GB SSDs, should I just use the 2nd one as an export location/archive?[Moved to the Hardware Forum by moderator]

My question is which of the following I should invest in...(a) a 3.1 GHz quad-core Intel core i5 iMac with 16 GB memory??or(b) a 3.7 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 Mac Pro desktop with 12 GB 1866MHz DDR3 ECC memory??Firstly, I edit with Premiere Pro CC.I shoot on a DSLR platform and am looking at investing, also, in one of these Atomos monitors that record raw / ProRes (?)  signals from something like a Canon 5D Mk III. I plan to shoot the occasional 4K video using a GoPro camera, but would immediately crop/convert it for edit and output to 1080p.  I plan to also use my GoPro to shoot 1080p video at up to 120 fps. I do light 2D effects with After Effects (mainly titles and green screen), but no 3D rendering whatsoever.Output would be no greater than 1080p.Lastly, I would need to connect two monitors and an external drive with FW800 or USB 3.0.Is the Mac Pro required for the work described above, or could I get away with the iMac?  Any advice is greatly appreciated!

We have a need for a notebook computer for onsite work. Budget is not unlimited but willing to spend for a system that will suit our needs including working with some 4k material. HD w/ RAID? Just multiple SSDs without RAID? Would working with external Thunderbolt HDs be another way to go?Probably go with 32GB of RAM and stick with the default 1060 card over the 1070?Any/all informed input much appreciated.

My computer works perfectly with two screens in any program except adobe premiere and after effects, it always gives these errors, I changed the operating system to w7, w8.1, w10, any idea what it might be?

I am looking to build a new computer due to my current one having a myriad of different issues, and secondly because I want to upgrade my overall computing power to allow for faster rendering than I am currently capable of. I plan to build this from scratch; from casing to processor. Most of my work is done in After effects, but there are several programs I will be using. Any recommendations of parts or what to look for would be appreciated. Hi.first i apologize for spelling mistakes, English is not my mother language and i don't wanna open dictionary for every word.since version 12.3 i have problems with my cards (gtx 970 and gtx 760 on diffrenet computers).I am tired of asking for salutions, since i tried almost every thing and didn't find one. i can only work on the newest versions of premiere if i set the app to this mode: mercury playback engine software only, insted of mercury playback engine GPU (cuda).my question is - what's the difference between the two.uri.

I have an older video card, a 1.2GB Nvidia GTX 570. I also have a sandy bridge 2600k with 16gb of RAM. I know my computer is getting old at this point and that I could stand to upgrade all of it, but I cannot afford that right now. I've been noticing issues, particularly with 4K footage. Sometimes the source window will go black and I'll have to reboot. Sometimes rendering is horrifically slow, other times not. Seems like it's booting me into software rendering. Other times it outright crashes.  It's always with 4K footage, never 1080p, so I feel like it's an issue with my video card not being capable, like perhaps the memory is insufficent for 4K If I upgraded to a GTX1060 or 1070, would that least alleviate my crashing problems? I know the card is going to be bottlenecked by the rest of my computer, but right now I'd be happy to just it not crash and run consistently (albeit slow) with 4K stuff.Does that seem sensible? I'm looking to upgrading my R9 380 to an RX 480 and would like to know if it will be supported by CC programs like Premiere Pro 2017 and After Effects 2017 for OpenCL. Currently, my R9 380 works with hardware acceleration even though it doesn't seem to be listed in the supported graphics cards list here:Premiere Pro System Requirements for Mac OS and WindowsIf my R9 380 works with these programs and it's not on that list, will the RX 480 also work even though it's not on the list? Right now I'm editing a Wedding on my Custom Built PC. Its a beefy machine with...i7 4790k Overclocked to 4.2ghz32GB of RAM480GB SSD WorkdriveGTX 1070I'm in Premiere Pro 2017, and although I have a large timeline, I'm editing off an SSD, and the CPU doesn't seem to be working very hard, but the lag is THROUGH THE ROOF, with almost 10 seconds of delay between Mouse movements, and Premiere almost crashing! The weirdest thing of all is the SSD doesn't seem to be touched, yet my C Drive (OS Drive) that Premiere is installed on seems to be jumping to 100% at times, and reading at sometimes as low as 0kbbps! So my question is....is the SSD bad? What other options do I have to trouble shoot this...I have had this issue before, but with my machines power, it really shouldnt be acting up like this!

Does The 980 work as a card recommended by Adobe for GPU acceleration (CUDA)? Does The Titan have different versions which I must take? Which do you recommend me between the Titan and the 1060?
