Hi all,Upgrading from a HD 5870 hopefully - just wanted to know if the GTX 750 Ti with its CUDA technologies would be sufficient for GPU accelerated applications like Pr, Ae, Sg, Ps, Lr and so on? Hello all -I'm hoping to get a little help/clarification on which card would better suit my needs, and appreciate any/all help. The initial video file was about 1Gb, I needed to cut it and add audio to it. I tried exporting with DV PAL encoding, there was about 15Gb of free space on the hard drive. It took a long time to export and somewhere at 90% it showed the message that free space on the drive was out. I closed Premiere, the target directory where encoded AVI should be exported was empty. The search by name doesn't find anything. Disk cleanup freed only 5Gb. Could you please tell me what the directory where Premiere store a temporary files while Encoding Sequence.THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hey everyone! Simply put I'm wondering how to optimize my hard drive setup for After Effects. I'm not sure if the answer to this changes between AE versions so let's just look at CS5.5 and CS6.My setup:i7-3930k OC'd to 4.5GHz48GB of RAM (1866 999 24)EVGA GTX 770 4GB Classified120GB SATA II SSD for C drive (OS and programs, nothing else. Not even games)240GB SATA III SSD for scratch files (50GB reserved) and output500GB HDD (7200RPM) for media files (Primarily AVCHD)3TB of external backup (not used while editing)My system already runs pretty quick for what I do, but if upgrading my Sata II SSD or replacing my HDD with an SSD would give me another significant boost in speed then I'm all for it. I doubt it'd be anywhere near as much of an increase as my last two upgrades though. The GTX 770 gave me a 3.5x render speed boost for my 3D projects and going from 16GB to 48GB of RAM gave me 5.5x ram preview speed boost. Hi!So I'm in the market for a new laptop since my current one can't manage at all.I've found an MSI laptop that I really want :http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GS70-STEALTH.html#specificationIt's a gaming laptop but it's got all the specs I've been looking for and the thiness and lightness of it is just astounding.The only problem is that it's only able to have 16 GB of RAM, will this be enough?I mostly use Premiere pro cs6 where I'm confident that 16 GB will be enough, I'm a bit worried about After effects cs6 though. I don't use AE everyday and when I do it's as a hobby but I do still sometimes use it quite a bit, at the same time as running Premiere. And once I get a laptop that can actually handle AE I will probably start using it more.So what do you think, will 16 GB of Ram be enough? I am currently using a laptop with only 6 GB (and it's a nightmare, although the other specs of this laptop aren't really worth smiling about either)I would really appreciate any and all help!/Lisa

How do I enable cuda on the macbook?On the Nvidia website it says to first install the Nvidia driver which you can't find for the new Macbook (Geforce GT 750M, there is only a linux driver)I've got a also a MBPr from mid 2012 that just works fine. Didn't install anything.Now when I copy my project the new MBPr it gives the messages that the cuda is not enabled.I tried Premiere Pro CC but that messes up the timelines and renderings.So I installed Premiere CS6 as well.Does that has to do with the cuda driver not being enabled?Thx in advance

Hi,Can anyone recommend a laptop priced around or below $1,000 that can run Premiere Pro cc fairly well?Will an HP Envy sleekbook with 6gb ram and a radeon hd 8610g graphics do the job? Besides the amount of ram, what else would be crucial to running PRO CC?  Someone mentioned  a Dell alienware 14  laptop - heavy , priced at $1,000 - as a possibility?

I'm currently using Premiere Elements, but am looking to buy the CS6 Suite with Premiere Pro. While I do mostly SD editing, my son wants to get into AVCHD editing and especially using AfterEffects.Given that I currently have a homebuilt PC (specs at end of post) with only integrated Intel HD2000 graphics, I guessQuestion #1 is will I really need a dedicated video card, or is the HD2000 enough for what I want to do? Of course faster = better, but how much faster will it be for my money, i.e. bang for the buck.And Question #2 would be... if so, which card? I really don't want to spend more than I need, but I also don't want to go cheap and end up with a solution that's not much better than what I have.I'm especially confused with Mercury Playback, AfterEffects, SpeedGrade, and what is truly needed. Hi everyone,I've been having a lot of problems with Premiere cc since I downloaded it a few months ago and am now realising the problem is with my computer.  I have a late 2012 Macbook Pro, 2.5 ghz, 8gb Ram, intel hd 4000 processor which just doesn't seem to have the juice to run Premiere pro smoothly.  If I do any kind of editing, even just colour correction, the footage gets very sticky when playing back in Premiere.  if I try anything advanced like adding warp stabilier the program crashes.  I also bought magic bullet looks and I can barely open it without the whole computer having a meltdown.This has been extremely frustrating and has made working with Premiere pro a nightmare.  I am now planning to buy a new laptop/pc and am looking for suggestions on what to buy.  i am looking for best bang for my buck.  While I would be willing to spend over a £1000 I would obviously prefer not to if I don't  have to.  I thought my Macbook Pro would h

I am looking to build an i5 3570 based windows editing computer in the coming months and I am looking for suggestions on a graphics card to be used with Premiere Pro CS6. I will not be using this system for high volume video editing, probably 1-4 5-15 minute projects a month using Canon DSLR footage and a few motion graphics in AE.I would like to purchase a Nvidia card under $200 to be used with the "hack" to enable it to help in editing. This system may also end up being used for gaming, but it's not a priority. I have tried looking around online to see if anyone has made a list of best non approved nvidia cards for Mercury Playback but I was unable to find anything. Are there certain things to look for in a graphics card when it comes to working with Premiere and AE? Number of CUDA cores, core clock, memory type? Yes, I'm going to tax your patience again. This is a guide to setup Vista 64 for NLE work, well it actually applies to any kind of work, but NLE machines may profit more than an Office/MSN machine. One caveat: What I suggest here is a lean and mean machine that is mainly dedicated to NLE work.First: It is always best to start with a clean install and a complete reformat of the disk. That will ensure that your registry is clean and leaves no leftovers from a previous install. Introduction:     Hello, I ran some tests today to see if RAM speed really made any difference when it comes to After Effects. In short, my finding are that, no, it doesn't make any difference. At least not for the type of project I tested it with. Ive got the Creative Cloud deal, so my software is up to date (CS6) as of 8/16/12, and after installing my new GTX 680 4GB card and enabling it in Premiere and After Effects, I see a nice performance gain over my older GTX 550 ti 1.5GB. When I drop a finished H.264 Blu-ray file into a sequence and export it from Premiere into AME, my graphics card shows about 40-60% regular usage throughout the encoding, no matter what format I am exporting to. But if I just drop the same original H.264 file into AME and set it to the exact same encode output preset, then the graphics card is not used at all.Also, when you run GPUSniffer in the Encore program folder, you can see that it will not accept this card for GPU utilization. Ive looked all around for the Encore list of cards database it is pulling from, and Ive concluded that it must be in a compiled DLL file, so unlike Premiere, you cant modify it to detect the GPU.
