Please advise on reasonable hardware set up for desktop.  looking at i5 10th gen with nvidia 1660ti and 16gb Ram; also looking at i7 9700 with nvidia 2070 super and 32 gb ram.  please advise if the first one will get the job done, just slower. also, opinions about Dell?  do the nvidia 2070 and 2060 and 2080 have big differences, in performance, and do they " color" things that change what is in the original video files?  thank you

I am on an Alienware Aurora based desktop very good specs incl 32gigs ram, i7 8700k, GTX 1080 Ti, it's a brand new build.  The only apps installed are adobe apps and mozilla firefox.  Windows 10 Pro.I have been experiencing massive system failures (whea uncorrectable error) when using most adobe apps (I mainly use premiere), and I notice a lot of others in this forum and elsewhere with the same problem so I just wanted to share my "fix".  Seems to work with all adobe apps incl premiere, media encoder, lightroom etc that I was getting these crashes from.I saw various mentions of something along the lines of "adobe app asking for more power than motherboard was willing to give and to go into system bios and up the voltage a little." (very rough translation)  So I tried to do this but could not find the actual voltage settings, but I found something in the bios called Intel SpeedstepLook at what the description say about itSo I disabled this and my system and all adobe

I hope I picked the correct Community. I posted the following on a Facebook group and received one answer.  It was a valuable answer but I would like additional opinions to help weigh my decisions for new hardware.   I am looking for opinions on Apple products in conjunction with Adobe CC. I currently utilize a 2013 iMac stock with 32G Ram and a 2018 MacBook Pro with same 32 GB RAM. The iMac may have seen its better days when considering the software’s current version or even back one. On the MacBook Pro Adobe eats through my battery like a Tasmanian Devil at lunch. I am considering a Mac Mini with intel i7, 2 tb sad and 65 fab Ddr4 Ram. My question is: does anyone have experience with this set up and is it as good as going with a simililarky set up iMac? Going to a PC with Windows is not part of my options. Thank you

Hello I have a big problem.My GPU dont works. I cant use it for rendering (OpenCL)I have a Asus ROG Strix RX 470. And i5-6600kIt must work my GPU is good 😕😕 I have all 2018 versions. I mean PePro2018, AE 2018, MEncoder 2018...I've just buyed 32GB of RAM for AE... I'm a student I dont have much money and I dont want to spend again a bunch of money for a CUDA graphics card...I dont understand why it shouldnt work with my RX 470.There's no reason why it shouldnt work...[And I still dont understand why AE is using only CPU for the most rendering... we have 2018 guys.. but thats now another topic..]does anyone have any ideas?I already tried this tutorial:HowTo Enable OpenCL for AMD Cards in Premiere Pro CC 2017 - YouTube I think it worked only in 2017. This might be too complicated of a question.After reading up on various PC specifications, I am just more confused. I previously had Acer S680Gi5-750 2.66GHz4GB DDR3. 640GB.Fx 380 512 mb – Graphics card.Premiere CC 2018 worked ok, a little slugish but done the job.The PC died after doing a lot of work over years, got my monies worth. I have about $150 to replace the old Acer S680G. Sticking with win7 and Premiere CC 2018 for now. Regarding refurbished box:Hard drive space is not a consideration. Win10 is not a requirement.(We still have the old Acer S680G HD loaded with win7)If the new computer has at least 4GB memory and accepting slots.(We also have 2x 2GB Memory sticks from Acer S680G)For a minimum of 8GB memory in total. If someone is up with CPU/RAM and Graphics I have a question: I would like your advice on the new PC CPU/Graphics card combination.Regarding the Acer Veriton X4630G with Intel HD Graphics 4600.The maximum shared Vram Memory is about 2G

Hey users.I've been editing for (gulp) 20 years. Most of that time on a Mac. But frankly I just got fed up with Apple and Adobe not getting along, so I built a PC, first one since 1998 (double gulp. Link below) Surprisingly there was no "definitive" answer out there to what type of components would give optimal performance (for the price). It took a lot of research, phone calls, and spreadsheets (yes spreadsheets) but in the end I believe I have cracked the code. Yes there are faster processors. Yes NVIDIA just came out with the RTX 3080. Does it matter? No. Not really. The bottom line here is that as far as Premiere and AE go, this will handle everything withing 95% efficiencey. Hey there! I'm building an editing laptop which will be used to run Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Davinci Resolve. I'm willing to invest a bit of money to make it powerful and long lasting, and wonder if you could help with the following?  RAM: I have the choice to install either 64GB 2666MHz, or 32GB 2933MHz. Which would be better? GPU: A choice between RTX 3070 and RTX 3080. Is the RTX 3080 worth the extra money, and more likely to keep the machine competitive for longer, or are the differences negligible?SSD: I have the option of installing two M.2 SSDs in the laptop. I was planning on using the first solely for the operating system and applications, and the second to store media and cache files. I'm looking at either the Enmotus Fuzedrive or the Samsung 970 Evo Plus. My thoughts were to use a 900GB Fuzedrive as my primary start up drive, and the 2TB Samsung 970 to store the media files, but would there be an advantage in a different combination? Man

Hey! I am looking for a new laptop in the range of 1200€, maybe a bit more. I am editing 1080p (sometimes at 60fps), but in AE I want to edit templates and create cool animation intros. Nothing super advanced yet but I want it to be smooth, because on my current laptop it's super slow (playback at 3-12fps in AE). I also want Premiere Pro to be faster, especially when I add effects such as Warp Stabilization and it takes too long to render. Sometimes I use Audition, Photoshop, Prelude, Illustrator, but mostly Premiere and AE. I want to do some 4K editing in the future, but that might be too much for my budget. Or not? But I just noticed that the computer I have ordered has a graphic card that is not on the list of "recommended graphic cards" on Adobe website. Hi!I will have to get a new laptop for work, where I will do some video editing in Premiere Pro. My employer suggests a Lenovo with this graphic card: NVIDIA Quadro T1000 Max-Q 4GB GDDR6.Do you think it will work ok? I wont be doing very advanced editing, but the video clips are sometimes long (webinars etc). A desktop is not an option, I will be editing while travelling.Thank you in advance for your input!  

I'm currently shopping for a 17in Windows laptop that can edit 4k footage. I have read that AMD processors render much slower than Intel processors in Premiere Pro due to optimization. I've also heard there are new settings to optimize AMD to run much faster. What's everyone experience with AMD in Premiere? The 2 processors I'm currently debating are AMD Ryzen 7 4800H 8 Cores vs. Intel Core i7-10750H 6 core.

Hi all, just ungraded my computer and wondered which drive(s) I should a) install os on. b)install premier on. c)media? i have a setup as follows: an nvme drive 256gb a 250gb SSD and a few 1tb HDD. i also have another nvme slot that I'm going to populate with perhaps a bit bigger nvme, in the near future. The os is on nvme drive with premier on. The SSD has media and projects on. 1tb is used as a backup drive. Is this the best way to have my setup, or should I change it? Here's my short story: I bought a new 2020 iMac 27" back in September with 3.6GHz 10-core i9 Intel, 128GB RAM, 1TB storage, and AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16GB. I have recently been having tons of trouble working in Premiere and lucky to get 2 minutes worth of work before the app freezes and crashes the computer. Apple Store had it for a few days, downgraded me back to Catalina OS and it's still giving me trouble. And of course this happened with a new client's project that wants it done at the end of this week. Because why not? So, I decided to go out and buy a Dell XPS 17 from Best Buy. This laptop has an i7 Intel, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB. HelloJust reaching out for any advice, pointers as how to proceed.We have been experiencing some issues when running Premiere pro recently and feel it is linked with a recent upgrade on the nvida graphics card driver - however it is also around the same time as a windows 10 upgrade and also a premoiere pro uprgade .......  I also noticed that the on board Intel grpahics driver has been updated The main issue seems to be a blue screen / stop code error / crash (video dxgkrnl fatal error)Not sure what triggers the error -can work on and run thru projects for a while and it seems to randomly happen but far too often - as well as some other error issues iwthin permiere itslef  - buffer and memory warnings... I am talking with nvidia and they suugest the onboard Intel should be turned off - in the BIOS and via device manager..  SO just seeking any knowledge on these matters...   I am not techie PC wise, the system was fine 2 months back but has suffer

Hi,my old graphics card just died... I have to buy a new one. The problem is the output of my monitor (a dell 3007wfp) which is dual-link DVI-I. Do you know any card which will work decently for Premiere Pro 2020 that have dual-link DVI? (the budget is limited to $400). Do you know if a conversor from dual-link DVI-I to DisplayPort exists? (I could not find any on amazon)... if does exists the dual-link DVI restriction can be lifted. Thanks

A person can ask questions like what trype of hard drive are you using or how much RAM do you have but those questions can all be answered if they show us their computer stats. The vdieo below will allow new members to do some of the troubleshooting on thier own. One can ponder if it is the RAM, CPU or hard drive but checking the systems stats will answer the question and identify the weakest link. That being said we still may not be able to resolve the issues but we will have much more information about the person's computer system eliminating a lot of guess work.
