Re: Premiere Pro CC missing / dropping frames (See VIDEO) - bad rendering?

Same issue on my machine, except in the preview window, making editing a real pain.

Specs as follows:

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X

Zenith extreme Asus MoBo

64GB gskil 3200 ddr4 in quad channel

1080ti 11gb Graphics card

1tb Samsung Evo Pro SSD

250gb NVMe Scratch disk

2 x 8TB Enterprise drives with access in excess of 250 MBps

I still get choppy frigging playback, I'm constantly dropping frames left right and center. Its ridiculous to expect that a machine of this caliber can't handle the preview in premiere. I've scoured the web for all the fixes and tried them to no avail. Whatever this bug is, Adobe needs to sort their shit out. Paying massive amounts of money so that we can get badly performing software is crazy. If its been happening since CS6 you would think they would have worked it out by now and that the remedy would have been clear.

Most users aren't getting that kind of playback. So yea, it's a right pain that your rig is getting hit like this. I don't think it should be having too much of an issue, depending on the media of course ... and you don't list the media & effects used in your sequences.

Maybe checking in and running Bill Gehrke's PPBM8 test on your machine, to get hard data of what's working and what ain't so well within PrPro would be a good thing to do. You'd know exactly what's not flowing right.

Let me try the PPBM8 Test. I'll come back with results.

Thanks Neil. Hopefully there's a solution to this problem.
