Is Premiere Pro degrading to 'pro-sumer' like Final Cut did?

I have been having many crashed, and time-consuming, effect-erasing bugs with Premiere for a while. I've been using Adobe suite since Final Cut went prosumer. I think maybe Premiere is now doing the same, because it's unreliable and seems to be getting more and more so. I'm considering changing editing software. Is AVID reliable? This is very disapointing and inconvenient.
