Question

It definitely feels like there's a lot of Adobe side excuses being made - (UI font size issue)

It definitely feels like there's a lot of Adobe side excuses being made to
justify taking a feature away that a lot of people needed in service of yet
another addition that most people weren't asking for. Adobe sometimes feels
like a company that is amusing itself with new toys more than servicing
their userbase with long LONG requested but not headlining grabbing
features.

Attacking the devs, and assigning ridiculous motivation, is both never effective and looks like rank amateurs. Besides ticking off everyone else.

    I want the changes also.

Attacking those of us suffering from the lack of Adobe's concern or interest in it's customer needs doesn't really serve any purpose.

Perhaps channel your energy in a more positive way?

Apparently, you've never actually met any of the devs. As if so, you wouldn't be assuming that stuff.

Assigning motivations to people you've never met is not a great choice.

How could a visual program have no font size adjustment? Why does spotify have no audio setting if used with a an Amazon Firecube?  I'll tell you why. These companies do not care about their users. There care about sensational gimmicks that make loud landings. Good luck.

So... Do I get it right, that there is still no way to enlargen the Font size of the UI EXCEPT for the Project Tab?
And if so... why? Like for real... WHY? I switche dto a larger screen and I feel like I am quickly developing eye cancer... It is such a big deal, and it seems to be an issue for years now... Or am I actually blind and can't find any solution to this problem...
    thanks for any answer!

Any answer? OK, did your 'larger screen' include an even larger jump in resolution? Like HD or UHD to 4k? If so, that was a mistake. If you get a larger monitor with the same resolution, HD/UHD as the previous monitor, yes, things will get bigger. And your eye issues will help be resoloved.

For my self, I have two 32" monitors. I would have loved to have the screen real estate a 4k gives with them, but anything more than UHD will make things too small. It's a common thing, but I think you got the wrong monitor. 🙂

4K monitors are too large for many Premiere Pro editors. Unfortunately, many system integrators and editors request these monitors rather than ones that are ideal for a given workflow. Cheers, @MyerPj for the comment.

    Thanks,

Now that the new releases of the applications all use the Adobe Spectrum UI, hopefully we'll see the options to change the UI font size that we have in Photoshop and illustrator make its way over to Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Media Encoder.

    >The (internal engineering tool) was never implemented/intended for users, its an internal developer tool.

I understand that, and I appreciate the thoughtful responses from you and @Kevin-Monahan. At the risk of belaboring the point, what I take issue with is the tone deaf, and ultimately disingenuous response from Adobe. It doesn't matter what the devs and management intended--I'm sure they're wonderful people with the best of intentions--how it's received by end users is all that matters. Adobe should know this.

Any savvy tech user, whether they're working with hardware or software, will take a deep dive in order to figure out how to make the tech meet their needs. Unless the Premiere (internal engineering tool) is password protected, users will exploit it, and as we've seen here, come to rely upon it. It's no different from off-label use of pharmaceuticals.

The (internal engineering tool) was never implemented/intended for users, its an internal developer tool.

    Look at it this way:

A feature request for a larger font size has been around for some years now.

No action has been taken by Adobe.

Meanwhile, many users found the (internal engineering tools) and used that and never bothered to upvote the request, so the request dropped down the list.

That "implication" you took is a complete mis-assumption, however. From my personal experiences, with over a decade meeting with devs in person at NAB and other events.

That simply is not how any of them would ever think.

First, that (internal engineering tool) is not intended for any users for any use, as you can seriously screw things up there. It's as named, an (internal engineering tool) for the devs only to use. While working on the app. Period.

Second, because of the nature of the intended use of that panel, controls on that panel come and go, as their de-bugging needs change. Routinely. So there aren't 'permanent' items there, really.

And due to the other, massive changes that they have made with this version's UI both code and underlying design parameters, they could well have simply decided that they didn't need to be able to change those items in the debugging channels anymore.

Which, knowing some of the people on those teams, would be a far more likely reason.

And I say that as someone who has been pushing them for more user controls over both the text size and text color, for the decade plus I've been working this app.

It's a priorities thing, really. How many users, as a percentage of the total user base, will be affected by any one change. The more that will be affected, the higher priority an item will get.

    >I think Adobe underestimated the amount of users that used the (internal engineering tools) to change font size.

Indeed. I resent Adobe's response that the (internal engineering tool) was an "undocumented" solution and therefore not their responsibility to maintain. Subtext: Too bad for you users who thought you could cheat the software. Disingenuous at best.
