Acrobat DC fails to launch on Mac OS Monterey

Like the title says, acrobat won't launch.  It opens for a spit second and then instantly closes with no crash report or anything.  This happens whenever I try to launch the app or open a .PDF on my two different Mac computers (15' Macbook Pro 2017, Imac Pro 2018).  I have deleted preferences from the library files based on my reserach but didn't change anything.  Need help!!!

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble and the delay in response. As described Acrobat DC fails to launch and closes on startup.

We need some more information for a better understanding:

- Is it crashing while opening the application or while opening the PDF file?

- What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 21.07.20099 installed. Go to help menu and check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

You may also try to use the application in a new test user profile with full admin rights or in the root account (MAC)

Also please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-mac.html

Regards

Amal

I have gone through and deleted preferences as you suggested above and it didn't work. I also created a new user account with Administrative privelages and it also did not work.  Do you have any other suggestions?  Is there a way to completely uninstall the software and start over fresh without formating my entire computer?  I can't use the software I'm paying for currently.

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that the issue still exists. Please remove the application using the Acrobat Cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html  , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Regards

Amal
