Hello all,
I have the problem that whenever a single click a pdf file in my file explorer, that I recieve this error pop and file explorer is unresponsive for abut 30 seconds. I've already done the typical things, restart pc, reinstall programm. I even completely removed to the complete creative suit from my pc to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my issue?

I have a PC on windows 11

I have the exact same problem. I saw another post saying that it might be an issue with the permissions. They showed the steps to take to alter the permissions, but I find it too difficult to follow because some setting options don't show to be exactly the same on my settings. (https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/acrobat-reader-quot-an-internal-error-occurred-quot-popup-after-installing-windows-10-chrome-also/td-p/7542640)

Any suggestions or solutions please?

Hi @Juli Vorhees,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader.

Would you mind sharing the below information:

1. The application version of Acrobat Reader you are using;

2. Does the error only occur when accessing PDFs from explorer?

3. A screenshot of the error for better understanding.

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...

Please go to Edit > Preferences > Page Display > Under rendering, Uncheck 'Use Page Cache' > Click OK and reboot the application and see if that works for you

Let us know how it goes.

There is the Error message-

I tried both things you sent me, but it didnt seem to help.

I am experiencing the same problem. I'm using version 2022.003.20263 (64-bit) on Windows 11 Pro version 22H2 (10.0.222621 build 22621). I can open files from within the Adobe Acrobat DC application; however, if I try to open from explorer, I get the message "an internal error has occurred". The system then freezes for approx 30 seconds before opening the file in Acrobat DC.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, repairing, changing permissions. None of those options seemed to work.

Please advise.
