Adobe Acrobat 2020 Opening Old Files

Question

If I go to open a new file and Adobe is not already open, Adobe will freeze and open files that I have not opened in months. It is specifcally two files that open every single time I do this. Is there a way to prevent this from happening becuase Adobe is unusable for 3 minutes while it does this and no idea why it is even doing this?

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

Would yo mind sharing the version of Adobe Acrobat 2020 you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 20.004.30020 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and see if that helps.
