    Hi,
My install got to 98.98%. At this point the NOSSO wrapper thing tries to trigger the actual setup process. Using PROCMON i found it triggered the wrong one...
In my case this was caused by the presence of a MS ODBC setup.exe file programfiles\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\FILC\odbc. This file was in PATH and thus triggered, I renamed the file temporarily and the install works. Probably goes for any file named setup.exe in PATH.

Paul Noronha--See my post #84 just above your last post (#85).
Of all the solutions offered here, that was the only one that worked for me. Note the location of the downloaded file, which probably came from using NOSSO.

Paul: Read my posts #74 and 75. Many of us have had various install problems with Ver 9 similar to yours. The method we all have discovered covered in my 2 posts mentioned above will work for almost any similar problem to the one you are having. Good Luck!!

To James Sauvage re your #26 message: I have a similar odd problem. I have Windows XP Home SP3 which runs great. I've been using Reader 7 and want to move up to Reader 9. I've uninstalled Reader 7 (using every method possible) and when I try and download Reader 9 from the Adobe site it acts like it's going to download the installer through Nosso but it doesn't. When I click on the download link through the Adobe site, it downloads and extracts to 99% and then for some reason, the installer for my graphics driver kicks in. Needless to say, I cancel this operation because my graphics driver works fine and I don't want my install of Reader 9 to mess it up my graphics driver (ATI Radeon 1300XPro). Then after a few moments, Reader 9 acts like it's installed, but it's not. Can't find it anywhere in my system and when I try and open a pdf file from last week, it can't find the Reader. So I re-install Reader 7 without a problem. If I try to re-install Reader 9, the same thing happens all over again. WHAT GIVES!!

By total accident I was wandering around my C:\ directory today and found C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Setup Files .
Those of you who have followed this thread will know that I had tried many, many ways to download and install Reader 9. I have no idea which attempt downloaded the files in that directory. I am SURE that it was not a matter of downloading one of the various installation (.exe) files reported here.
It probably was a path using GetPlus or Nosso. (Don't ask how I got there. Maybe some of you will recognize those names.)
I do remember one procedure that showed a "downloading" of installation files (rather than "processing") but without reporting where they were being downloaded. After unsuccessfully looking for Temp files (or files with the name "Adobe" or "Reader" added to the hard drive) that day, I gave up on that. But maybe (probably) that is the source of today's find.
When I looked into the "Setup Files" folder, I found six files.

    abcpy.ini
    AcroRead.msi
    AIRShareInstaller.exe
    Data1.cab
    Setup.exe
    setup.ini

SetUp.exe was labelled as suitable for "installation on a single PC". So I clicked on that.
And now, after a somewhat confusing but automatic installation, Reader 9 is installed on my PC.
Whoopee? No. So far, I feel Reader 8.1.2 was more flexible. But since all I really do with Reader is open .pdf files and read them (which 9 still seems to do) maybe this is progress.
I hope this is helpful information.
P.S. I have not yet installed Air. Should I?

I am trying to install Reader on our terminal server which runs Windows Server 2003 SP2. When I run the download, I get the message "Operating system error! (15219.101.220)." The download page correctly identifies the operating system. We also have Acrobat 5.0 installed to create and edit documents. 5.0 will not, however, open documents created using some later versions.

Ronald Magnan--Thanks for your post. The problem is not with downloading the installation file. (I have downloaded three different installation files for Reader 9). The problem is running any of them (in other words, trying to install) after downloading.
