It seems this issue has returned I have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2020.012.20043 and have the same issue that Adobe is creating blob_storage folder on a network location.  How did you fix in earlier releases but its returned in the latest version.

This patch works! Updated Terminal Server and rebooted.  Issue appears to be resolved

Bumping this thread to the top again. Problem still persists in the same situations. Double-clicked PDFs create a blob_storage folder in the same path as the file. PDFs opened from within Acrobat do not exhibit this behavior.

Also of note, on Windows 10 1903 machines with the latest updates, InDesign CS5 files opened by a double-click hang the application and suddenly close on their own. If the same files are opened from within InDesign CS5, this issue does not occur.

Possible issue with a Windows security update?

Ok this has been going on for a long time now. The patch does not seem to fix it.

We are Running win10 1903 , Adobe Reader DC 19.012.20035 along with patch.

Seems to be happening on Network drives when an end user opens a file there.

I have not been able to find cause or fix.

19.012.20035 Optional update, June 13, 2019 (Windows Only) — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products

This does not seem to be remediation, further more it is inconsistent.

What does "In certain cases" mean? What cases?

Someone for Adobe Please reply and explain.

We also have the same issue in our organization. I'm really getting tired of all the trash this issue is causing. Adobe, please post a fix asap.

I'm having the same issues with blob_storage folders being created in our G Suite shared drives. We couldn't figure out how it was happening until finding this post. I'm hpoing for a speedy fix as well.

Just to add to the pile, we are also having the issue on all of our terminal servers using the latest update of Adobe Reader DC on the network shared folders.

Adobe can you please advise when this issue is going to be resolved.

Just to be clear, it's not only a server related problem. I'm using a standard PC (WIN 10 PRO) in our home network as central storage for all family members and provide mappings to use it. I have the same issue on the mapped drives, so one can say it's happening to all mapped drives, no matter if it's located on a real server or a standard pc. I have also updated to latest Acrobat DC and still seeing this issue.
