Adobe Reader opens old files

Adobe Acrobat Reader, Version: 2023.006.20360

Since short, when opening Adobe Reader, it opens multiple old files at once.

When disabling options under "Preferences > Documents": "Restore last view settings" or "automatically save documents changes to temporary files"Or under "Preferences > General": "Open PDFs from last session on Acrobat Reader Launch"
It has no effect.

Even deleting full regkey ".\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles" it keeps recreating the same files and recentfiles back into the same location.

Repairing / reinstalling has the same effect. Clearing "recent files" just places it back when reopening Adobe Reader.

Any one has any idea?

Hi @systeembeheert49183793

Hope you are doing well.

Please update the application to the new version 23.06.20380 from the help menu > check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

If it still doesn't work, please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
