books in my library open at a random page and i cannot move from that page

- What is the workflow/steps you are doing to open the PDF file?

- Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive, please download it to your computer first and then try to open it using Acrobat Reader DC and check.

Also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

I have 3 books and all 3 do the same thing.

when i purchased the books the supplier stated i could only download 3 times so i am nervous about downloading again

3 counts and i'm out

I tried what you said about preferences but when i get to C:\Users\[username]\ there is no app data folder

i'm using windows 11 pro if that makes any difference

i have downloaded one of the books again which then appeared in my digital editions library as another copy of the same book. but when i tried to open it i get the same result - the book opens up at a random page and stays on that page.

so i have now wasted one of my allowed downloads.

how do i get my money back on these books that i purchased but can not read?
