Question

Touchpad scrolling stopped working out of nowhere

Hi everyone,

I opened a PDF yesterday and noticed all of the sudden my touchpad scrolling isnt working in Adobe anymore. I've googled and tried most of the "tricks" I could find from previous posts but nothing seems to work. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling Adobe reader but made no difference.

Any tips?

Thanks,

An update on my situation.

So far I've tried:

Nothing works, I'm genuinely flabbergasted. I've never had this issue and it came literally out of nowhere.

I hope someone can come help me out, its really annoying.

Thanks,

Hi @Arkie0809,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble with Acrobat and touchpad operations.

I would like to suggest a few steps. Please try them and let us know if it helps:

Check Windows Precision Touchpad Settings

  1. Go to Windows Settings > Devices > Touchpad.

  2. Under Scroll and Zoom, ensure "Drag two fingers to scroll" is ON.

  3. Under Advanced gesture configuration, make sure two-finger scrolling isn't reassigned to something else.

Also, if you use a third-party utility like AutoHotKey, Logitech Options, or a Dell/HP touchpad driver app, try temporarily disabling it.

More info around this available here: https://adobe.ly/4j4IJBp.

Try the Registry Fix

  1. Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.

  2. Navigate to:

    • Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\<version>\AVGeneral
    • (Replace <version> with DC or the appropriate version you're using.)
  3. Add a new DWORD (32-bit) Value:

    • Name: bToggleTouchMode

    • Value: 1

  4. Restart Acrobat and test.

Let us know if this helps.

Regards,
Souvik.
