Using old snapshot tool I could hold down L mouse button, drag the cursor down the page. I could capture a bigger and clearer snapshot. Now I have a giant cursor & crosshairs, and page will not scroll down.

Turns out all I had to do was follow the instructions below.

Seriously, Adobe: stop “improving” your product.  Most updates are useless and little more than busywork for your developers.

Step 1: Revert to the Legacy Snapshot Tool

You can switch back to the classic Snapshot behavior by changing a preference setting: [1]

• Open Adobe Acrobat Pro.

• Click on the Menu button in the top left corner (or go to Edit if you are using the classic layout). [1, 2]

• Select Preferences. [1]

• In the categories list on the left side, click on General. [1]

• Look for the option labeled "Open snapshot for markup" and uncheck the box next to it. [1]

• Click OK at the bottom of the window to save your changes. [1]
