Question

Acrobat crashes immediately when opening any PDF on iPad

Device: iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation), iPadOS 27.0.1 (also happened on the previous iPadOS version), Acrobat 26.09.00 (20261001.161901).

Since this evening, Acrobat crashes about one second after opening any PDF, whether from OneDrive, from "On My iPad", or with Wi-Fi and cellular turned off. The files open normally in the Files app preview. I have already restarted the iPad, updated iPadOS and reinstalled OneDrive. Is this a known issue, and is a fix planned?

    Hi All

    Hope you are doing well.

To help us look into this further, could you please share a sample PDF file with us in a private message?

    Here is how:

    1. Upload the file to any cloud storage you prefer and create a shareable link.
    2. Hover over my profile picture and select the envelope icon to send me a private message.
    3. Paste the link in the message.

If the file contains personal or confidential information, a sample with that content removed works just as well.

Let us know once you have shared it.

I reinstalled Acrobat. The instant-crash problem remains.

Same issue here. It’s been 8 days and still no fix. Not good.

Same problem. App crashes immediately. Works ok if you start in Acrobat and open file from there. Crashes immediately if working in Files app.

Since Acrobat crashes with every PDF, even with Wi-Fi and cellular turned off, it sounds more like an issue with the Acrobat app than with OneDrive or the files themselves.

Since you’ve already restarted the iPad and updated iPadOS, I’d check whether an Acrobat update is available and try reinstalling Acrobat itself. If it still crashes, report it to Adobe with your iPad model, iPadOS version, and Acrobat version. You could also test whether the same PDFs open in another PDF reader as a temporary workaround.

I can’t confirm whether Adobe has acknowledged this specific issue or announced a fix yet.

@gifted_sincerity687a someone had a similar issue 4 days ago which you can try to fix on your iPad:
