acrobat reader keeps stopping

Correct answer Amal.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

I have checked your Adobe account linked with the Adobe ID you are using on this community and found that you have recently purchased the Acorbat Pro subscription on trial basis.

As described, the application was not fully installed and suddenly stopped working with some installation issues. Please, remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://adobe.ly/40AspSi , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://adobe.ly/45Q5sOH and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi @Dylan J clarke229,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble with using Acrobat Reader Mobile.

From the screenshot, it looks like a file-specific issue where the file is restricted in some way, causing Acrobat Mobile to display the Fill & Sign not available pop-up.

To work on these types of files, you need to use the desktop version of the application.

Hope this gives more clarity.

Regards,

Souvik

Everytime I open a PDF File.  It freezes and then closes the pdf.  It sends an error message and I send the information to Adobe and provide my e-mail so they can send info back.  I never hear anything back, however.

I at one time had a subscriptions with Adobe, but really never utilized it and then canceled the subscription after a couple of months.  I started having issues after I canceled the subscritption.

Please help.  This is causing a lot of issues.

Thanks.

Hi @ajsplanner,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with using Acrobat.

Would you mind sharing a few pieces of information for further investigation:

1. The app version of Acrobat you are using (go to Home > Profile > About Acrobat);

2. The OS (Android/iOS) of your device and its version;

3. A screen recording of the entire event for better understanding.

Also, do you see this issue with every PDF file you try to use or with specific files? We would like to investigate more to try and reproduce the issue in-house.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Souvik.

Hi @premnath_7818,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble with using Acrobat Reader.

The version of Acrobat Reader that you are using is outdated, and there could be stability issues with the app beyond our control, due to the constant need for improvements in line with the Windows OS updates.

Would you mind updating the app to the latest version (2025.001.205xx) and letting us know if it works for you?

You can do so by going to Help > Check for Updates.

Alternatively, you can download the offline installer to the latest version from here: https://adobe.ly/3G32D23.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Souvik.
