Hi All,

I am updating my older version of Adobe Acrobat Reader for Android to version 18.2. Why does this new version need access to?

  1. In-app purchases.
  2. Identity.
  3. Photos/Media/Files
  4. Camera

Exactly how will Reader use these new permissions?

I hope you hear from them.

Wild speculation:

1. The iOS version allows you to buy a subscription and unlock more editing features. Why is this a security concern for you?

3,4. There have been recent improvements in allowing photos to be added to forms, on some platforms. Maybe Android too. These permissions would seem to be a must for that.

I'm using android. These permissions are a security concern for me because I've used Adobe Acrobat Reader for over 3 years without these permissions. I was hoping Adobe Support has a clear explanation as to how exactly EACH permission is used. Firefox Support has a nice detailed explanation as to how it uses EACH permission for example.
