Adobe Crashing on startup

Installed Acrobat through the play store on my tablet (android 7.1).  As soon as I started it it crashed,  this happened every time I’d start it.  Asked the AI Assistant and followed all the suggestions it came up with that I could.  (apps etc. that are only for windows or mac are no good to me).  Finally after trying for over a week to fix this My only option was to uninstall tghe app and reinstall.  Now when I sart the app it doesn’t crash immediately but still crashes.  I,m due to pay for this subscription in a few days and I don’t want to pay for something that doesn’t even work.

    Hi @Skeeter60

Thank you for reaching out, and we sincerely apologize for the trouble you've been experiencing with Adobe Acrobat on your Android tablet. We completely understand how frustrating this has been — especially after spending over a week troubleshooting, and we want to help get this resolved before your renewal date.

Please try the following steps, which are specific to Android devices:

    1. Clear app cache and data — Go to Settings > Apps > Adobe Acrobat > Storage > Clear Cache. This is different from reinstalling and often resolves persistent crash issues.
    2. Check available storage — Acrobat requires sufficient free space to run. Please ensure your device has sufficient storage.
    3. Free up device memory — Close all background apps before launching Acrobat to ensure it has enough RAM to operate.
    4. Update Google Play Services — Make sure both Google Play Services and the Play Store are fully up to date, as Acrobat relies on these services.

We also want to be transparent with you: your tablet is running Android 7.1, which was released in 2016. While we work to maintain broad compatibility, newer versions of Acrobat are optimized for more recent Android versions, and this may be contributing to the instability you're seeing.

Related to the app renewal, you can check your account status, for cancellation you may visit this:

Hi Skeeter60, sorry you’re dealing with this. Since your tablet is running Android 7.1, this may be a compatibility issue with the current Acrobat app version. I’d first cancel or pause the subscription/trial in Google Play so you don’t get charged while the app isn’t working. Then try updating Android System WebView, Google Play Services, and Acrobat Reader from the Play Store, restart the tablet, and clear Acrobat’s cache/data from Settings > Apps > Acrobat > Storage.

If it still crashes after a clean reinstall, the tablet’s Android version may simply be too old for the latest app build. In that case, using a newer Android device, updating the tablet OS if possible, or contacting Adobe support with the crash details would be the best next step.
