Question

Adobe Highliting-less feature

Now imagine you are a paid member of Adobe Acrobat and yet struggle into stupid stuff like scrolling or highlighting areas in your document! Imagine wasting precious time trying to do things like that!!??

I switched the document from PC to my Android tab since I can use the pen on it. Was working great, and then would refuse to highlight some areas. Disaster! Any solution?

For now I have a very CHEAP pdf Editor that is allowing me to do whatever I want extremely easy. I am frustrated!

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, and we understand your frustration, especially as a paid subscriber.

There are two likely causes for what you are experiencing, and both are worth checking.

Scrolling with a stylus in annotation mode

When the annotation or pencil tool is active, a single finger gesture is interpreted as a drawing input rather than a scroll. To scroll while in annotation mode, please use two fingers to move through the document. This is by design on Android and is not a bug.

Highlighting not working in certain areas

If the areas you are trying to highlight contain images of text rather than actual selectable text, highlighting is not possible in Acrobat Reader mobile. The highlighter tool only works on real text content, not scanned or image-based pages.

To confirm which situation applies, please share the following:

    • Your Android tablet model and OS version

    • Your current Acrobat app version is under Profile > About Acrobat

    • Whether the PDFs you are working with are scanned documents or text-based documents

    • A short screen recording of the highlighting issue, if possible

Please let us know, and we will be happy to take it from there.
