Adobe iPhone app won’t combine pdfs suddenly

Hi

I used the adobe app to combine files just last week.  Then the other day I tried to combine files and it says cannot convert your file in red.  Since then I keep trying and it still won't work.

is there any reason why this may be happening?  Or any suggestions on what to do to fix it?  I have a subscription to adobe and don't want to keep paying if I can't use its features.  I attached a picture of the error message. Thank you

Hi I am experiencing similar issues on iPhone. However, I am prompted to update my subscription to restore functionality. It appears to me that the Pro subscription is the only one that includes combining files. It is frustrating to me to continually have to pay more for functionality. Is this in error? This is the second time that I have had to pay more for simple functionality.

ADO88 used on iOS 26; iPhone 16.

Hi @funny_listenere8e7 ,

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

A quick question to help clarify this: which subscription do you currently have, an in-app purchase through the App Store (shown as "Acrobat Premium" or similar in your iPhone Settings > Subscriptions), or a separate Acrobat Pro plan tied to your Adobe account on desktop?

This isn't an error; combining files is a premium feature on mobile, and it's gated behind a specific tier. Based on Adobe's current documentation, the free Acrobat mobile app covers viewing, commenting, filling, and signing PDFs, but Combine Files requires either Acrobat Premium (a mobile in-app subscription) or an Acrobat Pro subscription (which also unlocks the premium mobile tools). If your current plan doesn't include one of those two, that's why it's prompting you to upgrade even though you already pay for something.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

Is this an issue with a particular set of PDF files that you try to combine or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different set of PDF files and see if that works.

Also, make sure that none of the files are password-protected or signed. Try updating the application to the latest version available on the App Store and reboot the device once.

You can also try combining the PDFs online at https://adobe.ly/48iZEg6 and check.

Let us know how it goes.

My version is 25.10.51 (20251111.141426). I don't use it on the laptop only on my iphone.  I can use it there but I mostly use my phone for it.  That's where I receive the error message.

i did try opening them in mobile browser on my phone and that worked to combine the files.  I tried two other files to combine and that worked in the app so it must be something with the file itself.  Thank you for your help!
