ADOBE Reader for iOS

In the latest incarnation of ADOBE Reader app for iOS, when a pdf document is viewed on a horizontal screen format, there always are thin lines along the left and right sides of the page that form a left and right vertical useless spaces. And there is no way to make them disappear. These empty spaces (columns) just remain there without any useful purpose and diminish the iPhone screen space.

Could you, please, give some advice how to get rid of them once and forever?

          Many thanks.

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out and sharing your feedback about the Adobe Acrobat Reader app on iOS.

The thin vertical spaces you’re seeing on the left and right sides of the page in landscape (horizontal) mode are part of the app’s current page display behavior — they help maintain the document’s aspect ratio and prevent content from being cropped or distorted.

At this time, there isn’t a built-in option to remove those margins entirely. However, you can try the following adjustments that may help optimize your viewing experience:

  • Switch to “Reading Mode” or “Continuous” view – Tap the View Options icon (usually found at the top or bottom toolbar) and select Continuous or Reading Mode. These modes make better use of the available screen width.
