Adobe trying to force a premium subscription

Hi

I have asubscription to both Lightroom and Adobe Scan, which I use almost daily.  Now, on my PC, whenever I open a PDF with reader, it tries to force me to take out a Adobe Premium subscription.

I am logged in woth the same email as the one I am using right now on my Adroid tablet.

The PC is running Win 11 

I have logged out an d back in 

I have tried re-installing Adobe reader.

always the same result

What is going on??  It worked just fine 2 days ago - reader opened as usual.  Now I am being told no go unless i subscribe to yet another service.

can anyone help?
