After I make edits to documents, the document disappears when I try to save it.

I'll download a document to be signed from my email then it will not save my document after I sign it. I can't find the document after I sign it.

    Hi @Glidewell

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Have you started experiencing this issue recently or was it occurring earlier as well? What is the workflow, steps you are taking to open the sign the PDF? Please share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for more clarity.

When you download a PDF from email and sign it in Acrobat Reader on mobile, the saved copy can end up in a few different places depending on how you opened it. Here's how to find it and fix your workflow going forward:

    Check your Acrobat Recent files:
Open the Acrobat Reader app and tap the Files tab at the bottom. Look under Recent, your signed document is often right there, even if it feels like it "disappeared."

Check if it saved to Adobe cloud:
If you're signed into an Adobe account, Acrobat sometimes auto-saves to Adobe Document Cloud. In the app, go to Files > Adobe cloud storage and look for your document there.

Change how you open PDFs going forward, the most reliable workflow to avoid this happening again:

    1. When you get a PDF in your email, save it to your device first.

    2. Open Acrobat Reader > go to Files > browse to where you saved it

    3. Sign and edit from there

    4. Use Save a Copy or Share to send the signed version back

This way Acrobat has full control over where the file lives, and you'll always be able to find it.

Also, If you have received the PDF for signature from a different user via Adobe Sign process, once you sign the PDF file and the signature process gets completed, you get an email of the signed copy of the document. Please check your mailbox for the signed copy of the document and see if that helps.

Make sure you're on the latest version of Acrobat Reader, go to the App Store or Google Play and check for updates and reboot the device once.

If the issue still exists, let us know which device and OS you're on (e.g. iPhone 15 / iOS 18, or Samsung Galaxy / Android 14) and whether you're using a free or paid Adobe account, that'll help us dig deeper if these steps don't sort it out.

Let us know how it goes.
