Android Adobe reader

I need to transfer PDF's to a different phone or tab but for some reason, once i start highlighting, I cannot find the new saved PDF on my phone with all the notes or highlights that I have made unless I go through adobe reader. I checked the file location through adobe reader but once i start exploring using my file manager, the folder doesn't seem to exist. Does anyone have a clue on how to fix this?
