Wherever I open the same downloaded PDF file, it is saving multiple times by adding 1, 2, 3 as suffix to the file name and creating multiple files. Not seeing any settings in the mobile app. Please help to disable this auto multiple savings

Thanks

Hi there

Hope you're doing well, and thank you for reaching out.

Could you please confirm if this issue started occurring recently or if it has been happening for a while? Also is this related to one specific file or all the PDFs?

Additionally, may I know the version of the Acrobat mobile app and the OS you’re currently using? You can check this by going to Profile > About Acrobat. Please ensure the app is updated to the latest version (25.03.0) via the App Store or Play Store, and try rebooting your device once after updating.

On both Android and iOS, Acrobat Reader mobile automatically saves changes as you make them to prevent data loss in the event of a crash or unexpected app closure. This is expected behavior. However, it should not result in multiple copies of the same file being created.

To troubleshoot, please try the following:

  • Log out of the Acrobat app

  • Reboot your device

  • Log back in and see if the issue persists

If the problem continues, it would be helpful if you could share a short screen recording showing the steps you're taking and how the issue occurs. This will help us better understand and investigate the problem.

Also, please check the self-help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/mobile-app-faq.html for future reference.
