Hello divyag,

Thank you for reporting the lost comments issue to us. We just released a new version (19.01.01) to the App Store and have fixed a number of issues that could be causing lost comments. Please install it and let us know if your problems have been resolved.

However, if not, in order to help us further investigate, it would be amazing if you could answer any or all of the following questions:

  1. How long had you been commenting before you experienced data loss (in hours)?
  2. How did you leave the Acrobat App or PDF when you experienced data loss (switching to another app, putting phone to sleep, etc.)?
  3. Is the PDF you were commenting a cloud file (Google Drive, Document Cloud, Dropbox)? If so, which cloud service?
  4. Did the app crash or display an error message?

Thank you again,

Anna

Hi divyag16,

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. In addition to the questions Meenakshi asked above, may I know if, after highlighting, you tapped the "Done" button on the top left of the screen? If you have not, could you please try tapping the "Done" button and see if your highlights are saved?

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on resolving this issue.

Hi Divyag,

With the new update, we have changed the gesture for highlighting text from drag to long press-and-drag.

Here are the steps to highlight a text:

- Tap on the commenting tools button to get to the commenting mode.

- Tap on the highlight button.

- Long press on the beginning of the text you want to highlight until a magnifying glass appears

- Drag the sentence to highlight the rest of your text.

Alternatively, if you do not have the commenting mode active, you can also long press on a word, and commenting options will appear for you, including highlight.

Please check if that helps.

If you still experience the issue, please provide us the details asked below:

- Current application version

- OS installed on your mobile device

- Did you check if you experience this behavior with all the PDFs or with some particular one?

Let us know if you have any question.

Regards,

Meenakshi
