App very slow; crashes with file transfer

Acrobat 22.08.00 (20220819.224230)

iPad Air 4th gen ios  15.6.1

Increasingly slow to start, to operate, using comment functions, and when saving files.

Copying to Adobe cloud storage causes the app to ‘crash’ - blank screen and will not restart until after full iPad reset, then pfd files are titled (Recovered), at times (Recovered) (Recovered) !

Cloud storage cleaned and reduced; recent files list reduced.

Recent files appears to list files which have not been opened recently !

Clear recent files by using select function and side menu; both work OK.

Update 25 Oct 2022

So frustrated - copy / unloaded all files from iPad and cloud.

Removed the App completely, cleaned out any stray files - supposedly linked to Acrobat.

Reloaded App and most files, but not those to cloud storage.

Wonderfull improvement - fast in all operations.

Conclusion - supposition, no tech proof. Previously all operations appeared to copy and take all actions via the cloud and back agin; hence very slow. Have not use cloud storage since.

Hello @Stan25045408417s ,

I hope you are doing well. I am sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader Mobile.

Would you mind sharing the below information:

1. The screen recording of the workflow you follow which leads to the crash;

2. Does this issue happen with a particular file or all the files in general?

Also, while you do so, please try the below steps:

1. Go to settings-> General;

2. Click on iPad settings;

3. Scroll down to search Acrobat;

4. Once there, click on Offload App-> restart the device.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Souvik.

Souvik, thanks

Sorry no recording as yet:-

With an open file select save to Adobe cloud storage, screen change, brief green box of saved to … crash

App still shown in background with open file, but reselecting app … crash

Close app, then restart, usual slow loading 7secs+, initial splash page and ‘welcome back’ … crash

Restart from app shown in background, recent files list shows copy(1) copy(2) and file(recovered).

File size 570kb, similar with larger files - all files.

Similar indications and result when save ‘copy too’ from recent files list.

However app will only restart after full iPad shutdown and restart; recent files then show files copy(3) and (3)(1), (3)(2), and (3)(recovered) of the original file.

Copy file to Dropbox no problems.

Send file with Mail, or to Books, no problems; however at some point in those checks another copy file (1) was generated - all previous file (1) had been deleted before copy or send.

Offload app and restart after full iPad shutdown and restart.

Same symptoms ! But also three additional copies of the file and one recovered !!!!

@Stan25045408417s Hi,

Thank you for the input.

Would you mind checking if multiple apps are running in the background that could cause a possible crash?

Let me know if that happens to be the case here.

Thanks,

Souvik.
