It sounds like the app may not have saved your changes before it closed. Sometimes, if the app closes unexpectedly or the device runs out of memory, annotations may not get saved. To help prevent this in the future, please:
Acrobat Reader Mobile often save annotations to the cloud automatically, which can help recover recent changes. Go to https://adobe.ly/4tmJc7r and check for your file under Documents tab and see if that works.
On some devices, recent edits might still be recoverable in the app’s “Recent” section.
Make sure you’re using the latest version of Acrobat Reader Mobile, as updates improve stability and reduce such crashes.
For critical papers, consider exporting a copy periodically while working so you have a backup of your annotations.
