Can't edit or comment pdf when loaded from external sdcard

I've been trying to open PDF files directly from my external SD card but I'm getting an error like the following (when I try to make comments or edit). It keeps forcing me to save a local copy of the file in the internal storage which is not the desired thing. I use Android 10

Hope you are doing well.

As per the issue description that you can't open files from external storage. Would you mind sharing few details to understand the issue better?

1. Make and model of your device?

2. Application version?

3. Make sure you have granted storage permission for the Reader application. Here is a help document you can refer to: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobat/android/en/settings.html#general-device-permissions

Also, make sure the application is updated to the latest version.
