Can't reset date field on iPad

Hi. I've build a Form with multiple date fields.

Using Acrobat on an iPad doesn't allow to reset a date field. On the iPad the date selector opens, but without any feature to set date to zero (reset)

Did I do something wrong? How could it be solved?

On iPhone dateselector appears on bottom with "next / previous and reset" selector...

Any idea?

Hi @DaxAtDS9,

If javascript does not help, the other option would be as you suggested, i.e. to create a text field and you can keep the default value for the field as per the date format you want the end users to fill in so they have an idea as to how to fill in the date.

Hi @DaxAtDS9,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble.

Are you referring to resetting the date without having to select the date field or resetting it from the date selector?

If from the latter, I tried reproducing but was not able to to. The date selector appeared fine with the reset button on the selector window.

BTW, I tried it on the latest iPadOS with the latest version of Acrobat installed.

Please check if you have the latest version of Acroabt installed on your device. Also, a screenshot or a screen recording of the issue would be great.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Souvik,

I am using acobat Version 22.10.00(20221018.130627). But issue appears an othe devices too.

Pic 01: a date field in a form. Filled with a date

Pic 02: activating the field by touching it. No chance to empty field

Pic 03: field activated after tab from fields before. Possibility to reset field. But can't empty it.

Pic 04: Reset dialog

Pic 05: Date field is rest to TODAY. No way to empty it

The form has many date fields that are initially empty, because not every field will have a value after filling the form.

After filling in a date by mistake, there is no way to clear it.

Hope you can help.

Hi @DaxAtDS9,

The function you are referring to can be done by modifying the field using the desktop version of the application, where you can set the field's default value and clear the data from within the field reverts back to the set date.

If not, it will only be possible to use JavaScript on the field, which can clear the field data per the given code.
