Charged for a subscription I cancelled

My college used to give us a subscription to Adobe for free. They took it away but I decided to continue the subscription on my own. When I purchased the subscription, nothing worked, so I cancelled it around January/February. I just realized that I have been charged $14 every month since then. When I log into my account, no subscription shows in my Apple subscriptions, there is no way to cancel it, and no way to restore purchases. I don't understand why I am being charged when I cancelled my subscription months ago because it never worked in the first place. It appears as if I still have a subscription when I know I cancelled it. Can I get refunded for the months of payments I did not want to make for a service that doesn't work?
