Government forms are never editable, form fields are only editable with Acrobat DC Pro anyway. Do you mean you cannot fill out the form?

Possibly you received this message on your mobile device?

"This form requires Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for Mac or Windows"

If so, the form was done in LiveCycle and can only be filled out on a desktop version of Acrobat or Reader. Mobile devices will not open it.

Can you tell us the error message you are getting so we can better assist?

Jane

++ Adding to the guidance of S S.

Timothy,

Web browsers don't render  Acrobat JavaScript at all; specifically if it is a secured government form that doesn't allow any type of PDF editing (just fill & sign from  desktop computer).

Your inquiry is about Google Chrome web browser, which is not really about the Acrobat Mobile app.

Do you have the Adobe Acrobat mobile app installed in your mobile device?

If, for example, if you download the most recent tax return form from the IRS, and try to edit that PDF with the Acrobat Mobile app, and even  try to use the Fill & Sign feature of the app, you'll see the error messages shown in my screenshots below:

In any case, you may download the file to your computer device and fill the form, comment or sign it using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (free PDF viewer/reader) or with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (full desktop version, requires paid subscription).

Hi @Timothy26687230uuul,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader Mobile.

Government forms are generally secured documents with filling out the form fields allowed. However, the behavior for both mobile and desktop versions related to secured documents differs.

You may be able to fill out the form using the web version of the application: https://acrobat.adobe.com/.

Hope this helps.
