Creepy Guest 1 Accessing Shared Files

Earlier today the app notified me that a document I had shared months ago (with the intended recipient) was at that very moment being accessed and commented on by someone named Guest 1.

This horrified me as some of my shared documents are entirely confidential in nature. I immediately unshared all of my files and am left wondering how this happened? Who is Guest 1? Is this a security breach point in the app?

Did you ever find out who guest 1 was ?  Or how to prevent it from happening again ?

I just had the same thing happen

Hi @Fred33593066mvh4,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the experience.

This incident sounds strange and at the same point, I would be curious to understand the type of notification you received on your application.

By design, the document should not be accessible by anyone else other than the person you share it with.

If this is not what you see, please share a screen recording or a series of screenshots depicting the event so I can get this checked with the server team.

Look forward to hearing from you.

I just had this happen too. Guest 1 commented on a pdf I shared.

I downloaded a pdf to my phone, opened it in the Acrobat app and used the share button in the app and shared via Gmail. Sent the email to my recipient no worries. Then about 30 mins later I got the random comment from Guest 1.

I would have thought that files shared this way are private/unlisted and only accessible by those with the link. Is this not the case? Poor form by Adobe if they're allowing people's documents to be public by default with no notice.
