Question

Data storage on android OS

Hello

I got a question regarding data storage in the app. Android shows the app size is about 177Mb, cache is 540ko, but then user data is about 0.94Gb. I scanned the files and I deleted most of pdf I could find but this size doesn't change.

Can you tell me what is the data? I could probably uninstall and install it again but it seems annoying.

I saw in another post a hint about cloud documents storage to be moved to the SD card but I don't see such setting on my mobile (Sony Xperia Xa2, Android 9, Adobe app 22.3.0.21713).

Any hint to limit this user data?

Hello Christophe,

Hope you are doing well. I am sorry to hear about your experience with the application.

The size that you see there is basically a temporary storage that is blocked by the appliction so that the files that you open on a daily basis open up exactly at the same area where you last closed them.

Just so that you be sure, please login to: https://acrobat.adobe.com/ and check if your files are all saved there.

If they are, you can go ahead and use the option to clear data and it will delete all the temporary storage that is being used. The need to re-install the application will not come up.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Souvik.

Hello Souvik

Thank you for your prompt response. If I understand correctly, the user data around 1Gb is used to store the page where I'm at in each and every pdf I opened. Or is it to store the list of file and their respective location on phone/card? I guess it stores also the favorite pdf (stars).

I logged in adobe website and there is no file available.

Indeed I'm ready to clear data, the only thing I would like to keep is the favorite files list.
