deletion of app acrobat reader from iphone

i deleted acrobat reader app from iphone becsuse it would not update through apple store. but this operation made me loose all the files stored  locally in the location "on my phone" without ANY warning!!! these files were not backed up because i was convinced they were in the folder Files of the phone! please, i need help in recovering them, even after reinstalling the app i can not see them anymore. they simply dis disappear. it is very bad! please help  alessandra

I hope you're doing great, and sorry for the trouble.

 

As per my understanding, you need help restoring the documents. If you have saved the documents as PDFs in the Adobe Document Cloud. You may check your saved files over here: -  


Note: If you're not uploading the files to Adobe Document Cloud or saving them to any other location, the files will be deleted permanently. 

It isn't possible to retrieve the files once deleted directly from the application.

that is the problem…
the files were not in any cloud, only in the iphone, in the folder called “on this phone”, which was never specified by the app to be only for the app….. I deleted the app not knowing that this action would delete the files which were supposed to be in the phone storage. this issue should be clearly stated in the app and a clear warning should appear before you actively delete the app.

in the folder Files of the iphone there is a clear subfolder (with the acrobat logo) containing all the pdfs saved specifically “on this phone”. this is the subfolder that disappeared when deleting the app without any notification !!!! on a computer (osx) if you delete acrobat reader or any other acrobat programm, you do not loose the files generated and saved with that programm.
again, this is very bad from the app developer…

and is not very comforting because lost documents might contain sensible and private data and i am unable to retrive them…it is a very huge damage. at least the developer should know whre these files are! and allow a simple recovery in a short period of time.
reinstalling the app was useless...

If the files are not saved on the cloud, then there isn't anything that can be done to recover the file.
Though, I will share your feedback with the engineering team.
Also, you can submit a feature request here -  Feature Request/Bug Report Form to make any changes to any existing features.
