You are essentially making an "In-App Purchase." The payment method on file is charged by Apple or Google, who then remit a portion of the payment to Adobe.
Because the payment was processed through as Apple, Google, (depending on what device you used), those companies hold the billing relationship with the customer. Adobe, in this context, does not have the ability to access the accounts, billings, or even initiate or process a refund back to the user's credit card or account balance.
