Every time I click new scan and go to scan, it says that it’s unable to open the camera to try to scan

    Hi @Luckylindy86,

    Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. This is a common issue that usually comes down to a camera permission that Adobe Scan hasn't been granted yet. The good news is it's quick to fix, just work through these steps in order and let us know how it goes:

    1. Grant camera permission to Adobe Scan 

    Go to your device Settings > Apps (or Privacy on iOS) > find Adobe Scan > tap Permissions > make sure Camera is set to Allow. On iOS, also confirm it's not set to Ask every time, set it to Allow.



    2. Force-close and reopen Adobe Scan
    After updating the permission, fully close the app from the recent apps tray (don't just go back), then reopen it and try scanning again.



    3. Update Adobe Scan to the latest version
    Head to the App Store or Google Play and check if an update is available for Adobe Acrobat. Camera access bugs in older versions have been patched in recent releases.



    4. Clear Acrobat's app cache (Android only)
    Go to Settings > Apps > Adobe ScanStorage > tap Clear Cache

    • What device and OS version are you on? (e.g. iPhone 14, iOS 17.4)

    • Which version of Adobe Scan are you running?

    • Does your camera work fine in other apps like the native camera or WhatsApp?
