Highlighting - Mobile vs Laptop

Hello,

I have locked PDF's that allow commenting (highlighting) and am able to do so without a problem on my laptop. The mobile app does not seem to read the specific permissions selected and only sees that the PDF is locked causing it to prevent any commenting or highlighting. How can I get the mobile and laptop version to recognize the same information and operate based on the PDF's permissions?

Hi Erik5EDD,

Hope you are doing well.

Thank you for posting your query here. Please help me with few details to understand your issue better.

  1. Make and model of your device?
  2. application version?

Make sure your application is updated. Do save your work then try to sign out and sign in back. Reboot your device.
For Android Adobe Reader Mobile version: 21.3.0.17414

For iOS Adobe Reader Mobile version: 21.03.00

Hi Ria,

I have restarted the phone and laptop but am still not able to comment on the mobile device. The phone is an iPhone 12 Pro using iOS 21.03.00 and the laptop is on 21.001.20149. I can comment on non-secured PDF's but receive a "this tool is not available because the document is password protected" for the secured PDF's - despite permissions specifically allowing comments and being able to highlight/comment on the same PDF on the laptop.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Erik

Don't protect the PDF files.
