How to highlight text?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to simply highlight text on iOS (latest version of OS and app). Shouldn't it be straight forward? Everything I find on this forum is either outdated or not helpful. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

I hope you're doing great, and sorry for the trouble.

 

To highlight text on Acrobat Reader mobile iOS, please follow these steps:

1. Open a PDF.

2. Tap  this icon

3. Select the  Comment tool.

4. From the comment toolbar, tap the highlight tool.

5. To highlight a text, long press a location and drag to select text.
