I can not longer open my ebooks from dawson era in Adobe acrobat since the last update, keep getting the message: Access to this document is restricted by this remote server: drm.dawsonera.com. however, a secure connection to the server could not be established. Please make sure that the server is using secure SSL.

Has anyone seen this problem?

Hi RJC19,

This is due to Apple's requirement for all apps in the App Store to enable a security feature called App Transport Security (ATS).  It forces an app to connect to web services over an HTTPS connection rather than HTTP.

The deadline for the ATS requirement has been extended.

However, all iOS and Mac desktop apps need to comply with the ATS requirement sooner than later.  ebooks publishers providing web services are no exception.

Would you please contact the Customer Support of the ebooks publisher ('dawson era') to switch to use their web services over a secure HTTPS connection?

Thank you.
