    Hi Kindhearted_knight5273,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble caused.

This error appears because you are trying to open an advanced XML Form Architecture (XFA) PDF on a mobile device. These dynamic or static forms, often used by governments and banks, only work on desktop versions of Adobe Acrobat.

As you mentioned, you used to be able to open PDFs before. Please check if these are the same form that you were opening previously.

Let us know if you need any help.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

    They are,

I am trying to read the content not edit it. Is there a way to read only?

    Hi @Kindhearted_knight5273

I hope you are doing well, and I'm sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

The Acrobat Reader mobile app on iOS and Android does not support XFA forms, which is why you see the error message in your screenshot.

Here are the options that can help:

    • Open the PDF in Acrobat Reader freeware application  (https://adobe.ly/4xVtguR) on a Windows or Mac computer, where XFA forms are supported.

    • Ask the sender or organization that issues the form whether they can provide a standard PDF version that also opens on mobile.

    Hope this information will help.

    Regards,
    Amal
