Identifying Text

I need to identify text from a scanned PDF file. When I try to do this, I get a message saying that I need to download the Swedish language pack. When I try to add the language, the app starts downloading Swedish, but then nothing happens. It looks like it’s in the process of downloading, but nothing ever changes. I’ve let it download for several hours without any progress. Additionally, Swedish is the smallest file among the available language packs for download so it should download fast.

To assist you more effectively, could you please provide a short video recording of the exact steps you’re following when the issue occurs? This will help us understand the problem better and offer a precise solution. If possible, kindly share the specific PDF file you're working on so we can investigate the issue on our end.

Additionally, it would be helpful to know:

  • The current version of the Acrobat Reader mobile app you're using.
  • The version of the operating system (OS) on your device.

Please make sure that both the app and the OS are updated to the latest versions. You can check for updates through the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android). After updating, I recommend rebooting your device.

Hello,

Thank you for the quick response. I was able to resolve the issue by using the web platform. However, the problem still persists in the app. Here's the information you requested:

App version: 24.9.2.35569

OS on my device: One UI 6.1.1 / Android 14
I usually update my devices and apps as soon as updates are available.


Before posting here, I tried to search for solutions on my own, but I couldn't find anything that was helpful.

Attached are two video clips showing the two methods I used to download the file. I recorded the screen directly from my mobile. To make it clearer, I've added an arrow indicating exactly where I clicked each time. The process gets stuck in the state shown at the end of the videos, but I trimmed them to avoid making the files too large.

I’ll add: I didn’t realize everything was in Swedish until after I sent the files. It should look the same regardless of the language you choose, so you should be fine, but feel free to let me know if you'd like me to make a new video with English menus.✌️
