Install keeps moving back into device after moving to SD card

I use an LG L56VL with Android 6.0.1.

 

I previously installed Adobe Reader for Android with the hope of moving it to the external SD card and run it from there, but 1 in 7 (seems like) phone bootups I'll have my device complaining about low storage available and when I go into Settings > Apps > Adobe Reader I find it has moved around 200MB (or so) of itself back into internal storage. Usually I can move it back to the SD card no problem but it doesn't stay! Or it complains about not enough room if I have under 400MB free.

 

I uninstalled it after it pulled this trick again. I would love to install it directly to the SD card and have it stay there.

    Hi @MrShoujo,

     

    Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader Mobile.

     

    Android directly handles the workflow of moving an application to the SD Card and not by Adobe. 

     

    There could be multiple ways to handle this. Let me share one of the suggestions you can try:

    • Ensure that a compatible SD card has been inserted into the device
    • From the Home screen, Tap Settings > Navigate and Tap Storage > Check to turn on the SD card, and set the SD card as the default storage place.
    • From the Home screen, Tap File Browser open > Navigate and select Apps > Choose a particular app to be installed > Tap OK to install the App to the SD card.

     

    The above steps shared make your SD the default when installing any application.

    Setting the SD card to Default Storage does not exist on this device's variant of Android 6.0.1. Oddly enough, it does for my Alcatel with 4.4.4 but Google Play says Adobe Reader is no longer bueno for that device.

     

    Compatibility for the SD card is not an issue.
