I am not able to access the adobe acrobat app in either my iPhone or my iPad. I have deleted the app, deleted cache, rebooted and reinstalled app and it still crashes. The opening page will come on for a second and then crashes. Can someone please help as this app is needed for work. I have a iPhone 16 pro max and an IPad Pro 18.5.

Adobe Acrobat for iPad takes 30 seconds to open any PDF

Adobe Acrobat for iPad was working perfectly this morning, August 27, 2026. Suddenly, it started taking approximately 30 seconds to open any PDF file stored locally on my iPad.

I have performed the following tests:

  •  The same PDF opens in approximately 2 seconds using Apple's Files app.

  •  The same PDF takes approximately 30 seconds to open in Adobe Acrobat.

  •  The problem occurs even when Adobe Acrobat is already open.

  •  I tested with the iPad in Airplane Mode, and the problem persists.

  •  I disabled Liquid Mode, but there was no improvement.

  •  I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat, but the problem persists.

  •  The PDF files are stored locally on the iPad.

  •  I am not using Adobe Cloud, and I did not previously have an Adobe account.

Device information:

  • iPad mini (6th generation)

  • iPadOS 26.6.1

  • Adobe Acrobat version 26.07.51

The strange thing is that Acrobat was working perfectly earlier this morning, and the problem suddenly appeared a few hours later without me making any changes to the iPad.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with Adobe Acrobat for iPad? Is there a known solution or any way to fix this approximately 30-second delay when opening PDF files?

Thank you.

Hi @EdElOr ,

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

You've already ruled out a lot of the usual suspects (network, Liquid Mode, a fresh install), so a couple of quick things that are still worth checking:

  • How much free storage is left on the iPad? Very low storage can slow down almost any app's file access.

  • Is Low Power Mode on? That throttles background processing and can add delays like this.

  • Have you tried a full restart of the iPad itself (not just closing and reopening the app)? A reinstall clears the app, but a stuck OS-level process can still cause this.

A couple of other things worth trying:

  1. Check Background App Refresh : Settings > General > Background App Refresh, and make sure it's on for Acrobat. If it's off, the app can end up doing extra work the moment it's opened instead of ahead of time.

  2. Test with a brand-new, tiny PDF : Create a one-page PDF (for example, print any page to PDF from Notes) and see if that one also takes 30 seconds. If a tiny fresh file is just as slow, it points to something at the app or OS level rather than your existing files.

  3. Restart the iPad completely (Settings > General > Shut Down, then power back on) rather than just closing the app; this clears anything stuck in memory that survived the reinstall.

If it still doesn’t work, please share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for further investigation.

I am experiencing the same problem with my iPhone and IPad. But the adobe apps seem to run smoothly in my MacBook for some reason.

I am also having the same issue as of the last hour.  The adobe acrobat app keeps crashing on my iPad and my iPhone.  I've deleted app and rebooted but no luck.  Is this a back of the house adobe issue?
