iPad e Acrobat Reader.

Links between two independent files, in order to navigate from one to the other (e.g. between the table of contents and the topics of an article) created with Acrobat Pro on a Mac work perfectly, while they do not work at all if the same files are opened in iPad with Acrobat Reader. Is this right, or am I missing a step? Thank you.

I solved the problem, however, not by following the suggestions I was given, but by merging the two files into one (in my case it was possible), and then modifying the link accordingly: it worked perfectly!

    Good solution,
especially if you have to keep the files separate!

However, I tried merging the two (text + index) into one file
and I saw that the links also work on Reader in iPad.

Thanks anyway for the solution indicated.

    thanks for that solution.

but, do not reply to adobe forum messages via email, or remove your signature before sending.

    Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

The links between two separate PDF files that you create in Acrobat Pro on Mac work perfectly on a computer, but due to platform limitations, they won’t function the same way in Acrobat Reader on an iPad.

However, there’s a workaround! If both PDFs are stored in a cloud service like Adobe Document Cloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive, you can use web links (URLs) instead of file-based links. This way, when you tap the link, the second file will open in your browser or within the cloud app.

    Hope this information will help.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
