I am an active Adobe Acrobat Premium subscriber using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite.

After updating Adobe Acrobat to version 26.9.0.49916, the Add Text / Text annotation tool no longer works properly on my tablet.

I am not trying to edit the original PDF text. I only want to add text notes/annotations over the PDF using the Text (T) tool. This function worked normally before the update and still works correctly on my mobile phone using the same Adobe account and PDFs.

I have also seen reports from other Android/Samsung tablet users describing the same issue after this update.

Please confirm whether this is a known bug in version 26.9.0.49916 and escalate it to the Acrobat Android development team. I would also appreciate any temporary workaround or information about when a fix will be released.

    Hello Adobe Support,

I'm writing to report critical issues with Adobe Acrobat on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 +5G (Verizon) after the latest update this morning. I rely on this app for my business—I work with over 20 clients daily—and it's currently making the app unusable.

**Device:** Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 +5G (Verizon)
**App Version:** 26.9.0.49916 (Note: Play Store shows 26.8.0—version mismatch)

    **Issues:**

    1. **Text, Highlighting, and Underlining Tools**
When I add text, highlight, or underline in PDFs, the tools don't respond properly. Text boxes lock in place and cannot be moved or adjusted after placement, even when I confirm the entry.

    2. **App Crashes and UI Breakdown**
After using the text/editing tools, the app locks up completely. The tab bars disappear, and I'm forced to close and reopen the app to restore any functionality.

    3. **Sign-In Box Orientation Bug**
The sign-in box fails to scale properly when rotating from portrait to landscape mode. It remains small in landscape (when it should expand), making login difficult. Additionally, black boxes appear around the sign-in interface, making it look incomplete and unfinished.

    4. **Version Discrepancy**
My app shows version 26.9.0.49916 but the Play Store lists 26.8.0. I'm not enrolled in beta, so I'm unsure why I'm running a newer build than what's publicly available.

    **Troubleshooting Completed:**
    - Cleared app cache
    - Uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times
    - Restarted my tablet
    - All issues persist

    **Impact:**
These bugs are directly impacting my ability to serve my clients. With 20+ daily clients, I cannot afford app crashes and constant restarts. This app was working great just 4 updates ago—these recent updates have made it almost impossible to use.

I urgently need this resolved or guidance on rolling back to a stable version.

    Thank you

I am using Android  16 tablet . And the version of app is 26.9.0.49916 . I am getting issue when I write a word or any sentence on my pdf I cannot fix it's location in whatever way I want. I am also trouble in drawing square boxes and editing its size according to requirement.

Earlier everything was smooth but now I think there is any problem or lacking in the application.

    Hi @Brave_force0f32

Thanks for sharing the information. Could you please confirm,

    • Which tool is affected: adding text, highlighting, underlining, or all of them, and what you see when it happens (for example, lag, the text not moving, or the tool not responding).

    • Whether it happens with every PDF or only with a specific file.

Also, share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs, for more clarity.

    Regards,

    Amal

    Hi @Brave_force0f32

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that adding text, moving it around, and highlighting or underlining have become difficult since the recent update.

To help us understand what is happening, could you please share a few details:

    • The device and operating system you are using (for example, iPhone, iPad, or Android, and the OS version.)

    • The version of the Acrobat Reader app you have installed now.

    • Which tool is affected: adding text, highlighting, underlining, or all of them, and what you see when it happens (for example, lag, the text not moving, or the tool not responding).

    • Whether it happens with every PDF or only with a specific file.

    • A small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs, for more clarity.

Once we have these details, we can look into this further and suggest the next steps.

    Regards,
    Amal
