Question

Last time I used acrobat it let me edit printed words from an image that I uploaded and even let me input my own words in there place, how do I use that feature?

As I said I’m trying to edit the words printed on a file I’ve uploaded. Here’s a scenario, I have typed pages of grandmas recipes, so I take the picture, upload it to adobe, then I would like to edit certain words from this file without changing all of having to manually erase said words with an eraser. How do I edit certain words and exchange them with the same font and sizing

    Hi @intuitive_problemac15,

Thanks for reaching out! We understand that you'd like to change specific words in a photo of a printed document, such as your grandmother's recipes, while keeping the rest of the page and its formatting intact.

You can use Recognize text (OCR) in Adobe Acrobat to convert text in a scanned PDF into editable text. This lets you make changes to individual words without manually covering or erasing them.

Here's how to edit the text in Acrobat on mobile:

    1. Open your scanned PDF in the Acrobat app.

    2. Tap More tools > Recognize text.

    3. Once text recognition is complete, you'll see a confirmation message.

    4. Tap the text you want to change and select Edit text from the menu.

    5. Make your changes. You can also adjust the font and font size to help match the original formatting.

Please note: Editing text in scanned PDFs requires an Adobe Acrobat subscription. The results can depend on how clearly the text appears in the original scan, and you may need to adjust the formatting to achieve a close match.

You can find the detailed instructions here: Edit scanned files in Acrobat on mobile.

Could you confirm whether you're using Android or iPhone, and whether your file is a photo (JPG/PNG) or a scanned PDF? This will help us guide you through the correct workflow for your file.

Hope this helps you make those recipe edits more easily! Let us know if you're having trouble finding the option, and we'll be happy to assist further.

    Thanks,
    ^BS
