MAM policies don't work as expected for Adobe Reader (Android)

With the MAM policy correctly assigned to devices, users should be able to use “Sharing button” or “Save copy” functionality from Managed Adobe Reader application even if it's restricted only for Managed apps and apps within exception list. Reported inconsistent behavior on some devices, where this options allows users to save files to any location or use share button and in contrary on some devices not.

Reported error message on device: "This feature is disabled by your organization. Contact your IT admin to request access."

Resolution

We had an incident open with our engineering team about this issue:

• It was identified in the logs it appears that Acrobat is being overly aggressive in blocking operations when not actually warranted by Intune policy
• We relayed this info to Adobe engineering and they are working on a fix but we do not have any ETA for this currently
• I will be archiving this support request for now since there is no action pending from Intune and we need to wait for the 3rd party vendor to deploy a fix
